Border town between Murcia and
Andalucia, Huercal-Overa partakes of two cultures. A result
of the blending of the Huercal and Overa villages at the
end of the 17th century, this former farming and cattle-raising
town, is now very dinamic and active commercially. The
town has a beautiful historic town centre with important
monuments, maintaining hundred year old feastivals and
traditions such as the Easter Processions, of the Levante
type, encouraged by the rivalry between the `Morao´,
`Blanco´ and `Negro´ Easter Fraternities.
